SCHOOL ATTENDANCE AND ADVANCE ABSENCE NOTIFICATION
All students are expected to maintain, with the support of their parents, regular and punctual attendance. Children who must leave the school during the day to attend appointments should provide their classroom teacher with a  written note of explanation from the parent or guardian. The child should be picked up at the office by the parent or guardian as outlined in the letter.

Whenever a child is late for school or absent, a parent or guardian should notify the school by:
(a)     telephone 613-542-9189 by  9:15 a.m.;
(b)     send a note to the classroom teacher with a sibling, relative, neighbour or friend;
(c)     send a note or telephone the school in advance for hospitalization, trips, appointments, etc. citing the date of return to school and days to be absent.

Classroom teachers will notify the office by 9:30 a.m. of any unexplained absences. The secretary will compare this information with phone calls or notes received, and if an absence is unexplained, will attempt to contact the adults listed on the registration form. This program is designed for the protection and welfare of your child and your participation is strongly recommended.

For health reasons, it is encouraged that a child not return to school until an illness has concluded.

ILLNESS OR INJURY

An emergency phone number should be included on the registration form in case of illness or injury. If an illness or injury arises every effort is made by the school to contact the parent or guardian. If the parent cannot be reached, the emergency contact person will be notified and arrangements made to have the child picked up. Please alert the office if there is a change in the emergency phone number given on the registration form.
